2 years ago, I was spring cleaning when I came across a very old bridesmaid dress. And when I say old, I mean OLD - like the last time I wore this bridesmaid dress was when I was 5 or 6 (thats years old, not years ago).
Well, I'd grown a wee bit more since then so the dress didn't fit but the underskirt was this white tulle with a surprisingly still-elastic waist. I slightly shortened the white underskirt so the tulle was longer and voila - new lease of life!
Now normal people would wear it immediately after making all these adjustments but I just couldn't find any shoes to match it with - everything seemed too girly sweetheart or just too wedding! That was till I got this amazing pair of boots. You know the sisterhood of traveling pants which everybody could wear - I swear these boots are the fashion equivalent because they go with ANYTHING.
So (and you know where this story is going), I added the boots and this silver top and there it was - the perfect combination of shimmery ballerina tulle with my studded boots offsetting the girlishness to rock&roll it up.
20 years in the making - do they make awards for that?
